Today isn’t just another Sunday.
Today is the day.
The day the stone was rolled away.
The day death lost its grip.
The day Jesus didn’t stay in the grave…
and because of that – neither do we.
I don’t think we always stop long enough to feel the weight of that.
Because this wasn’t just a miracle.
This was a victory.
A holy, powerful, earth-shaking victory that changed everything – for all of us… but for me? It changed everything personally.
Because there was a time in my life when I felt buried.
Buried under pain.
Buried under shame.
Buried under things I didn’t talk about… things I didn’t know how to heal from.
Alive on the outside… but not really living on the inside.
And if I’m being honest… I didn’t need a motivational quote.
I didn’t need a “fresh start.”
I needed a resurrection.
And that’s exactly what Jesus came to give.
Not just forgiveness –
but new life.
Not just a second chance –
but a completely new identity.
Not just survival –
but freedom.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead… is the same power that reached into my broken places and said,
“Come alive again.”
And I did.
Not overnight.
Not perfectly.
But truly.
That’s what today is about.
It’s about the moment everything shifted.
When darkness thought it had won…
and heaven said, “Oh no… we’re just getting started.”
It’s about a Savior who didn’t just die for you…
He got back up for you.
So whatever feels heavy today…
whatever feels unfinished, painful, or still a little broke –
Please hear me when I say this:
Your story is not over.
The grave was supposed to be the end…
and it became the beginning.
And if God can bring life out of that…
He can absolutely bring life out of anything you’re walking through.
Today, we don’t just celebrate that He is risen.
We celebrate that because He lives…
we can live too.
Free.
Whole.
Redeemed.
And maybe today is the day you let Him breathe life into something you thought was gone forever.
Because resurrection isn’t just something He did.
It’s something He’s still doing.
Jesus,
Thank You for the cross… and thank You for the empty tomb.
Thank You for not staying in the grave –
for choosing to rise so that I could truly live.
Thank You for meeting me in my brokenness,
for stepping into the places I tried to hide,
and for calling me back to life when I didn’t think it was possible.
Today, I remember.
I remember that You are stronger than death.
Stronger than my past.
Stronger than anything that has tried to hold me down.
Breathe fresh life into every place in me that still feels heavy, tired, or undone.
Remind me that my story is not over.
Remind me that resurrection is still happening – right here, right now.
Help me to walk in the freedom You died and rose to give me.
Not striving… not performing…
but resting in the truth that I am already loved, already chosen, already Yours.
And for the one reading this who feels buried today –
meet her there, Jesus.
Whisper hope.
Speak life.
Roll the stone away in her heart.
We celebrate You today – our risen Savior, our Redeemer, our Living Hope.
In Your powerful, life-giving name,
Amen.
Happy Easter, sis
He is risen… and because of Him – so are we.
